The most beautiful beaches you will find around Los Cabos

Cabo San Lucas Los Arcos, Mexico

Los Cabos’ coastline is riddled with sandy blond beaches. Some invite with calm blue waters, while others are best enjoyed from the shore because of strong waves, riptides, and undertows.

Want to be out in the water one day then take a peaceful stroll on the next? There’s a beach in Los Cabos for any mood. Experience the beautiful breadth of Los Cabos; visit these beautiful beaches and enjoy the sun, water, and views.

Playa del Amor

Just 160 yards away from the Arco de Cabo San Lucas, Playa del Amor, or Lover’s Beach, is one of only two beaches near Los Cabos’ Land’s End. Calm waters make it a great place to swim, and the picturesque beach flanked by towering rock formations offer unparalleled views of the Corridor’s coastline, Sea of Cortez, and Pacific Ocean.

To reach this beach at “the end of the world,” board one of the many water taxis making trips from the docks at Medano Beach in Cabo. The beach is isolated, so pack your own food and shade if you plan on staying for a few hours. From Lover’s Beach, you can also explore Playa del Divorcio, or Divorce Beach. It’s too risky to swim here (strong currents), but the views are just as breathtaking as the ones from Lover’s Beach.

Medano Beach

Arguably the most popular beach in all of Los Cabos, Medano Beach drives Cabo San Lucas’s tourism and social scene. Active tourists and expats take advantage of its usually calm and strikingly blue waters to swim, kayak, and parasail. Medano also lends itself well to a day of languor by the sea. Partake of a meal and drink from its seaside restaurants as you watch the water ebb and flow.

Playa Palmilla

Located along the Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, Playa Palmilla is a protected cove known for its great swimming conditions. (The beach even hosts the Los Cabos Ironman). Triathletes aren’t the only ones flocking to this beach either. Families find the pristine waters of Palmilla Beach an ideal venue for quality time together, whether it’s to swim, snorkel, or lounge underneath the cool shade of thatch roof palapas.

Cerritos Beach

If catching waves is your idea of a great time at the beach, schedule a day trip to Cerritos Beach, one of just a handful of safe swimming beaches on the Pacific side of Baja California Sur. It’s a bit of a drive from Cabo San Lucas – 45 minutes to an hour northbound – but the reward for your effort is a year-round surfing spot with strong waves and plenty of space to stake a spot.

Even if you don’t feel like taking on the water, Cerritos is a beautiful beach for horseback riding or watching the sunset over the Pacific.

Playa Las Viudas

This small, quiet beach on the Corridor is great for days when you want to while away a few hours by the sea in a secluded spot. Widow’s Beach’s many coves and volcanic rock formations make it easy to find a private spot to ruminate on these marvels of nature.

While it is safe to venture into the water, swimming at Playa Las Viudas should be done with caution because of the beach’s rocky nature. Explore the tide pools while you’re here and don’t forget to take photos – this beach is a popular backdrop for remarkable shots and has become a must-visit destination for many photographers.

Chileno Beach

Chileno Beach’s turquoise waters are home to more than 80 species of marine life and are a prime example of why Los Cabos maintains its reputation as the “aquarium of the world.” It’s a favorite among snorkelers and divers, and local families living along the Corridor make a trip so their kids can enthusiastically splash in its shallow depths. Chileno also places great importance on cleanliness, environmental protection, and amenities. As a result, it is consistently recognized as Blue Flag beach.
